Garbege – ‘07 Summer ‘Den of Thieves’

June 27th, 2007  •   Posted by: mark  •   Posted in: fashion  •   Comments Off

Garbege have completed their collection for the summer, entitled “Den of Thieves”. The collection is based on the legend of John Rackham aka Calico Jack, an English Pirate Captain during the early 18th century. His nickname was derived from the calico (black and white) clothes he wore. This type of thief’s theme is prevalent in the collection, which consists only of black and white items. They have some nice tees, shorts and hoodies for the summer. Perhaps the strongest collection to date, conceptually, and graphically too. Kudos to Garbege.

The only thing I can’t understand is how they put together such a half-assed lookbook. The lighting is terrible, the photo quality is poor, and many of the photos are not even in focus. I don’t understand how the folks over at Garbege put something like this together.

Check out the rest of the photos from the lookbook after the jump.

Familia x DVS Huf 5 Mid

Minnesota skate shop, Familia collaborated with DVS on these Huf 5 Mids, that will be part of the Original Intent line. The sneakers are made with quality leather and suede. The subtle black colourway was definitely a good idea. Speckled midsoles are getting a bit tired though, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. The shoes still look dope. Look for these to release in August.

Nike will be releasing a back-to-school inspired pack. The pack consists of a Dunk Hi, an Air Max 90, and a Vandal Hi. Each takes its colourway from a school supply, such as a notebook, glue, and crayons. No definite release date yet, but expect these to drop late summer to coincide with the start of school. I’m sure none of y’all ever looked forward to going back to school so much…

We’ve already seen Dinosaur Jr. Dunks and being that Alien Workshop have been fans since ‘91, they decided to pay homage to the classic band by putting out some limited decks, longboards, and wheels.
