W)Taps x Vans Syndicate ‘08 Fall

For their fall Syndicate collection, Vans got together with W)Taps to create a pack of sneakers. Instead of just using classic modells and reinterpreting them, Tet and Vans decided to create completely new sneakers. The result are three shoes called, Greaserz (above), Bash, and Rudeez.
The Greaserz is intended to be part of the same lineage as the Era, the Sk8-Hi, the Old Skool, and the Half Cab. Simple aesthetic, rubber reinforced toe cap and ollie area, canvas upper, and trademark “OTW†grip make this a shoe that Tony Alva could easily be pictured in racking a frontside grind over the light.
The Bash was inspired by the skateboard era of the mid to late ’80s before skateboarding was an industry, when skateboarders adapted to what was available and customized everything to suit their own needs. They wanted to embody that same do-it-yourself spirit, but backed by modern skate shoe technology. Homage paid to Hosoi, Gonz, Natas, Blender and Guerrero, the Bash or BAsketball SHoe is Syndicate’s very first original design offering.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any photos of the Rudeez, but we’ll keep you posted. The Bash releases this June, the Greaserz in July and the Rudeez in August.
Check out the Bash after the jump.
