Design firm, Hipgnosis was founded in 1968 and made a name for themselves designing album covers in an era when the computer and Photoshop were non existent. They created covers for some of the biggest names out there including Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Black Sabbath, Genesis, etc… For the Love of Vinyl is the first book to document their work, and includes a total of 60 album covers with in depth information covering each phase from brainstorming to the final product.

After the jump you can check out a video of one of Hipgnosis’ founders, Aubrey Powell in which he talks about the company, their humble beginnings, and some specific projects he worked on.
