Behind the Blog: Street Blogs from the Best in the Business

Over the past few years, we have seen street culture as a whole grow from a tightly-knit subculture into an all-encompassing, global phenomenon. With this drastic rise in popularity came the emergence of blogs dedicated to streetwear, and sneakers. Much in the way street culture has flourished, these blogs have also thrived and consequently garnered their own fair share of the limelight. What was once the hobby of a handful of passionate followers and members of the culture has turned into profitable full-time jobs and self-made careers. And whether their success can be attributed to being a direct result of street culture’s growing popularity or indirectly a cause of it is up for debate. What is definite is that they have become a prominent voice of the culture today. They have become just as indispensable as the limited tee on our backs or quickstrike Nikes on our feet.
Over the next five days, we will take a look at the people behind these blogs to see how they got started, find out the secret to their success, what they think of the over-saturated street blogosphere, and more. Wanna create your own blog? They even have advice for burgeoning start-ups. We’ll talk with David Fischer from Highsnobiety, Yu-Ming Wu from Freshnessmag and Sneaker News, Terry Ng from Kineda, Adam Bryce from Slamxhype, and Kevin Ma from Hypebeast.

Over the course of four years, however, David has expanded under his Titel Media flag to include five separate sites, with Highsnobiety leading the pack as one of the most credible sites around; an authority on the daily occurrences surrounding street culture.
