I’m sure by now, everyone has heard ‘Young Folks’, right? The whistling is so annoying, and even just judging by their names, there’s no way they could be any good; they’re also Scandinavians… So, after listening to that excruciatingly happy-go-lucky tootling single, I had buried Peter, Björn and John for a lifetime. That was until I stumbled onto their video, ‘Nothing To Worry About‘, which at first, got a couple chuckles out of me, and shortly after made me change my mind indefinitely, and have become a fan of the Swedish trio ever since.

After they released their fifth album, ‘Living Thing‘, I had come to realize that they are worth wasting several hours of my precious time on the internets. The 12-track album has virtually no songs worth skipping. It’s chocked full of wonderfully light, indie-pop hits that have you instantly humming along. Add to that the fact that their videos are super entertaining and original. I could have known there was more to them after seeing that first video, and thankfully they didn’t stick to the same one idea, but went the full spectrum of concepts, in the most amazingly idiotic and hilarious way imagineable. Their latest video reminds me a bit of Avalanches, (even though they have nothing to do with each other), and is just as wicked.
