For those who tuned in to Brazil’s 3-1 victory over the Ivory Coast to see some “beautiful game” swagger and soul, you were sadly disappointed. What you got instead was skillful, ruthless, technical, undisciplined play which wasn’t particularly entertaining but still very impressive.  ”I think the Brazilian team can go all the way … it’s difficult to beat them,” Ivory Coast coach Sven-Göran Eriksson said. “If you do a mistake they are very quick to punish you.”
