Sometimes it takes a true genius to look at the mundane and make a great use out of it, as is the case with the Steadiseg. The goofy Segway is paired with a steadicam to produce a smooth picture for 3D and HD video, to see how it played out peep the video. Now at least the Segway has a purpose rather than thwarting the evolutionary need for legs.

Sports Story: The Greatest Weighs in on ‘The Decision’

The greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan, watched, as did millions, as LeBron James said good bye to his home town and headed for sunny South Beach, Miami, Florida to play for the Heat. MJ, like many others, believes that making such a shift wasn’t the best thing the young star could have chosen. This is a nice way of calling James a coward:
“There’s no way, in hindsight, I would’ve ever called up Larry (Bird), called up Magic (Johnson) and said, ‘Hey, look, let’s get together and play on one team’…In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys.” said Jordan.

Digital Daily: The iPod Wall

July 19th, 2010  •   Posted by: Mark Sabb  •   Posted in: Digital Daily  •   1 Comment

Pointless? Probably, but it looks pretty cool. Welikesmall put together this video to show how awesome they are, and if you didn’t figure it out yourself that’s 20 iPods at $200 a piece, almost 4 grand – Take that Diddy. Can’t wait to see one of these using iPads.

This is a video showing the build of the Welikesmall iPod wall. It was made from 20 iPods over the course of about three weeks in our spare time. Tasks included building and designing the wooden box, programming an iPhone application that runs off the Game Kit framework, hacking a USB hardware fan together, developing a Python / Django web server application, and designing a quick UI. To keep the wall constantly powered we used a Cambrionix B2 USB powered hub.
