Hiroshi Fujiwara Designs Starbucks B-Side Concept Store

Hiroshi Fujiwara’s latest project ventures from the world of fashion into interior design. The “Godfather of Harajuku” teamed up with Starbucks to design an all-new concept store, titled B-Side. Located in the upscale Tokyo fashion district of Omotesando, the interior is different than the typical Starbucks featuring raised wooden counters running nearly the entire length of the coffee shop accompanied by stools. There are bookshelves offering a selection of design and fashion books for patrons to browse with their coffee. The lounge area can be found upstairs; but unlike your average Starbucks, the couches are much more austere and minimal. The overall mood is more mature. It’s a Starbucks for young professionals rather than college kids looking for free wifi. The shop also plans to offer exclusive products (like the fragment x Starbucks mug that has been making rounds on the blogs lately) and hold live events as well.
More after the jump.
