UNDRCRWN 2011 Spring/Summer Lookbook

UNDRCRWN unveil their Spring/Summer lookbook. Channeling their “World Champions” styling through the lens of Greek mythology and its influence on sports culture, the collection starts by taking on a modern interpretation of Zeus – the chieftain of gods – whose symbol is historically represented as the thunderbolt. Additional imagery like the lightning script and winged foot – are sprinkled throughout the line – to honour “Hermes” God of Flight.
The connection goes as far back as the word ‘athletes’ – which is rooted in ancient Greek history- a term that various sports teams owe their names to. The list includes The Oakland Athletics, The Senators and Titans (to name a few).
For the first time this season, UNDRCRWN introduces their tanks and 3-dimensional foam fingers. Also included this season is the continuation of UNDRCRWN’s “Music Series”- with Tees Inspired by classic songs of the ’80s and ’90s (“Shook Ones” Tee / Mobb Deep / Oakland Athletics Styling) + (“My Fly Green Socks”/ Slick Rick / Featuring a modern Winged Foot design & baseball lettering).
Pick up the collection now through UNDRCRWN’s online shop. mash rating: 7/10

Boogie ‘Demons’ Exhibit

Boogie has a new exhibit coming up at The Outsiders gallery in Newcastle. Up until now, the Serbian photographer almost exclusively shot outdoors in the streets of various big cities around the world. For Demons, however, he takes his camera indoors and used antique photography techniques to conjure forth a diabolical aspect from each of his modern-day subjects. The everyday people in his portraits – be they young, old, slick or shambolic – appear possessed by infernal dark forces. The show opens May 27th.
