[...] “The Art Of Sumo” is a new collection of images from esteemed Japanese sports photographer Tomoki Momozono (aka MOMO). MOMO started to delve into the world of sports photography in 2001 as an intern and realized that he had a unique eye for lighting and capturing that eventually intrigued the heads of Japanese publishing company Bungeishunju. In his latest collection, MOMO presents the realm of sumo wrestling from an outsider’s point of view. Through “The Art Of Sumo” we are able to see all facets of sumo wrestling; including the rituals, fashion, setting, perseverance, and brute strength. It is truly a wonderful look into a sport that little is known about to many. Check out the full image gallery through mashKULTURE here: http://english.mashkulture.net/2011/08/15/art-of-sumo/.
