Photographer, Frank Oscar Larson documented life on the streets of New York during the ’50s. The banker-turned-amateur photographer shot in his spare time and developed his photos in his basement darkroom in Flushing. Larson was an avid, empathetic observer of the life of the streets, and in his eyes, the mundane becomes miraculous. He was able to achieve a great intimacy and immediacy taking unguarded, candid shots. Honouring the work of Frank Oscar Larson, a selection of these images will be on display at the Queens Museum in an exhibition running from February 5th to May 20th.

More after the jump.
