The Art of Sammy Slabbinck

Sammy Slabbinck is a Belgian artist whose work often combines a range of vintage photographs and illustrations creating a muted and surreal universe that brings to mind the art of Terry Gilliam. His works can be purchased as prints through Society6.

[...] When I was younger, I used to love cutting up old fashion magazines that were lying around the house and make collages out of them. I mostly did it because as a 7 year old, I saw it as a form of “artistic expression” and I  also thought the colors and the pictures were pretty. If I was patient and took the time, my collages might have told a story like the composer of the work above does. Sammy Slabbinck is a Belgian artist who uses vintage photographs and makes collages out them, some of them could be considered social commentary.
