Doze Green ‘Luminosity in the Dark Rift’

June 5th, 2012  •   Posted by: mark  •   Posted in: art  •   Comment

Currently on display at Jonathan Levine Gallery is Doze Green’s latest solo exhibit. Luminosity in the Dark Rift is a series of new mixed media works on canvas, panel and paper by New York-born, Northern California-based artist whose signature aesthetic is a combination of figurative abstraction, organic cubism, fluid line work and stylized letterforms. Using an array of mediums with an intuitive, stream-of-consciousness creative process, the artist’s skillful approach involves rich layers of overlapping elements, intricately woven into tapestry-like compositions. The show runs until June 16th.

More after the jump.

Nothing better than seeing an artist develop and evolve overtime. I wasn’t a much into his more surreal landscape type pieces, but these abstracts are pretty bad ass.
