The Art of Patrick Nagel

Patrick Nagel’s career began in the mid ’70s when he started illustrating stories for Playboy and later was at the forefront of a new wave of illustration in Los Angeles in the late 1970s
and early ’80s, re-imagining the graphic arts and in the process defining Los Angeles as the epicenter of award-winning visual arts. His minimalist style went on to influence the look of ’80s pop culture from music videos by David Bowie, Robert Palmer and George Michael, to creating the album cover art of Duran Duran.
Take a look at some of his works after the jump.
