Weight Watchers Campaign

I never thought in all of our five-year existence we’d write about Weight Watchers, but after seeing their provocative new campaign, a 25 second film courtesy of renowned agency, Fred et Farid with photography by Rankin, we had to share it with you.

Skittles ‘Newlyweds’ Commercial (NSFW)
Video-directing duo, Cousins, created a new Skittles commercial titled Newlyweds. It’s NSFW, so you probably already guessed it’s a fake ad, but nonetheless genius.
Sony ‘Balls’ Ad for Wimbledon

You probably remember the Sony Bravia Balls ad from a few years ago. Sony returned to the awe-inspiring ad to promote their 3D coverage of Wimbledon. Replacing the colourful bouncing balls – which back in 2006 filled the steep roads of San Francisco – are tennis balls (unfortunately 90% of which is unconvincing CGI), which swarm Wimbledon’s quintessentially English streets.

The Top 10 Ads from Super Bowl XLV
As with every year, companies and advertising agencies prepare in frenzy to come up with killer ads for Super Bowl Sunday. This year was no different, so in no particular order, check out our top ten ads from last night. Just as surprising as seeing Ozzy and Justin Bieber together in one commercial was discovering that Eminem starred in two separate commercials for different brands.

Fast Food Ads Vs Reality

Sure we all know that fast food advertisements bend the truth, and what we get served rarely resembles what we actually order. Who could forget Michael Douglas from Falling Down when confronted with the stark reality of his fast food burger? McDonald’s MacFries Pedestrian Crossing

We don’t usually cover advertisements, even though we often stumble onto ones that catch our attention. However, we felt this latest one needed to be posted. It’s from advertising agency, TBWA, who creatively redecorated crosswalk in front of a McDonald’s in Switzerland.

Panasonic Nose Hair Trimmer Billboards

In Indonesia, Saatchi & Saatchi have figured out probably the most clever way ever to advertise nose hair trimmers. Using actual electrical wires and poles, they’ve tried to emphasize the need for nose hair trimmers as an indespensible grooming device. Although I won’t be running to purchase one anytime soon, you can’t blame Saatchi & Saatchi and their amusing billboards for trying.

Dr. Dre for Dr. Pepper

Dre puts says no to techno in his new ad for Dr. Pepper. Of course, product placement isn’t limited to the drink itself. The beats by Dre headphones make a cameo, and we even get a taste of some beats from the upcoming Detox at the end.
Raekwon the Chef aka Car Salesman

In case you haven’t heard, Raekwon takes time out of his busy schedule to help out the Carlyle Motor Club. In the commercial above, he takes their cars for a spin, and spits over a beat about how great the folks at Carlyle are, while providing other semi-comprehensible information about the auto-leasing company. And why shouldn’t we trust him? Not only is he the Chef, he’s also a client. Please believe.
