Over the weekend, Jeremy Fish opened his latest exhibit at the Laguna Art Musuem. The San Francisco-based artist put together new works which are “largely about transformation and rebirth through struggle. Deliberately drawing from our own current economic and political events and its impact on us socially and emotionally, Fish’s characters reveal a narrative of evolution through struggle to obtain a more magnificent and resilient place. In this exhibition, Fish has created paintings surrounded by hand carved wood frames, as well as three-dimensional figures for the gallery wall installation and wooden sculptures.” The show runs until January 17th.

D*Face will be opening his new exhibit this Saturday at New York’s Jonathan Levine Gallery. The title, Ludovico Aversion Therapy / All Your Dreams Belong To Us, is a reference to Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange in which the patient’s eyelids are forced open to watch disturbing footage containing subliminal messages. The London-based street artist stated: “If you’ve ever wondered what goes on inside of my mind, this body of work is it. A visual interpretation of lucid dreams—the replaying, disassembly and reconfiguring of images held in one’s mind… it’s as much ‘Exquisite Corpse’ as everyday Ludovico Aversion Therapy.” The exhibit runs until October 10th.

For five months, Matt W. Moore and Kate Cleaves collaborated to bring together a new show entitled Convergence at the Coduroy Boutique. The five month endeavor to create a completely blended, completely unique series of paintings has lead both Moore and Cleaves down a path neither of them has been down before – resulting in work unlike anything either of them has ever produced. From day one, it has been a true collaboration – literally working on the same piece at the same time – almost in some sort of call and response dance via color and shape.
