We probably show more t-shirts than anything else when it comes to streetwear, so compiling a list of our favourite tees from 2011 proved to be our most difficult task yet. Although we expanded the list to 25 this year to try and make room for all of our favourites, sadly many of them didn’t make the cut. As with all best of lists, subjectivity played a big role, so don’t blame us if we left out your favourite brand/t-shirt.

Check out our favourite tees from 2011 after the jump.

25. Primitive ‘Cultivated’
A staple in Primitive’s collection, the Cultivated graphic returned this year in a variety of colours.

24. Adapt ‘Never Mind’
The Oakland-based label paid tribute to Nirvana with a simple but fresh graphic that got our attention in 2011.

23. Deadline ‘Crow’
Inspired by classic mob flicks, this crow takes a bite out of the Big Apple. Gangster.

22. Diamond Supply Co. ‘Sade’
Diamond’s Sade graphic is one the brand’s most recognizable designs, but after all these years it still doesn’t get old.

21. Benny Gold ‘Work’s for Jerks’
San Francisco’s Benny Gold tells it like it is with this design from Spring/Summer.

20. CXXVI ‘Hatch’
We like the New York label for their nautical and classic Americana-inspired designs like this silhouette of a liquor-chugging sailor.

19. HUF ‘Hill Terrors’
Keith Hufnagel’s label seems to get better season by season, not only because of their growing cut-and-sew range and footwear line, but also thanks to their clean, and often athletic-inspired graphics.

18. ONLY NY ‘1997′
This simple design pretty much sums up the essence of ONLY NY: classic Polo and New York City.

17. Carhartt ‘Camera’
The only thing better than a graphic of a Carhartt-branded 35mm camera would be an actual Carhartt-branded 35mm camera.

16. Staple ‘Coming to America’
One of our favourite brands meets one of our favourite movies.

15. The Quiet Life ‘Aperture’
Founded by Andy Mueller, graphic artist for Girl and Chocolate Skateboards, as well as art director for Lakai, The Quiet Life always keeps it simple, creative, unique, and fun with their designs. This one’s for all the photo enthusiasts.

14. Jonathan Zawada x Sixpack Artist Series ‘Say it with Pictures’
Sixpack’s ongoing Artist Series tees never disappoints. Choosing a favourite was no simple task (we could have made a top 25 just for Sixpack), but we finally decided on this great design by Jonathan Zawada.

13. Flying Coffin ‘Skinned’
Each season, the Seattle-based brand revisits their winged-coffin logo. For the Fall, it took the form of an anatomy-inspired design.

12. Actual Pain ‘Immortal Mouse’
Mickey Mouse joins Norwegian black metal band, Immortal, on this tee from Actual Pain’s Summer collection.

11. Upper Playground ‘Vs.’
Two deep-water explorers face to face on a t-shirt. C’est Magnifique!

10. X-Large x Milkcrate 2011 Winter
Two streetwear OGs join forces on a new tee released earlier last month.

9. REBEL8 ‘R8 Logo’
An essential in every REBEL8 collection, the R8 Logo dropped in this teal colourway back in Summer.

8. Mighty Healthy ‘Dumb Rappers’
An instant classic when it was first released a few years back, Mighty Healthy brought back Dumb Rappers earlier this year, much to our delight.

7. 5boro ‘Never Forget’
Not only does the New York skate institution design dope skate decks, but they also create some mean t-shirt graphics, like this one paying tribute to the Twin Towers.

6. Warriors of Radness ‘Beach Ballers’
The beach, sand, beach balls and boobs. Our board shorts our off to Warriors of Radness for this awesome graphic.

5. Heel Bruise ‘Stars’
A couple stars from Hollywood’s golden era make an appearance on one of Heel Bruise’s Holiday tees.

4. Mishka ‘Perestroika’
The NYC label draped Mikhail Gorbachev, the ex-Soviet Leader, in stars and stripes for this graphic from their Summer line.

3. Freshjive ‘Dope Crisis’
Freshjive takes the bronze with their Dope Crisis tee.

2. FUCT ‘Iron Head’
A master at re-appropriating iconic designs, FUCT turns to a classic Powell Peralta graphic from the ’80s for this tee, which takes silver.

1. Acapulco Gold ‘Jodie’
As far as we’re concerned, Acapulco Gold is in a league of its own when it comes to streetwear. 2011 was a big year for the brand on all fronts. From cut and sew, to sweats, headwear, denim, and especially t-shirts. Like a fine wine, AG gets better with each year. With such a strong range of graphic tees to choose from, picking a favourite was almost as hard as compiling this list, and when all was said and done, we settled on this one featuring Jodie Foster’s character from Taxi Driver, Iris, placed over an AG logo backdrop. Acapulco Gold takes gold.

Each year, roughly 240 images are posted to Today’s Photograph. With so many to choose from, we initially tried to make a top 10 list, but quickly found out that wasn’t going to work. So we made it a top 15, and still couldn’t fit all the images we liked into the list, so it grew to a top 20 before finally arriving at 25. Now the trouble was rating them all from 1 to 25. That turned out to be an even more difficult feat. After trying for hours on end to no avail, we decided to just randomly post our favourite images in no particular order.

Check out the best of Today’s Photograph 2011 after the jump.

We continue our rounding up of the best from 2011 by bringing you our favourite sneakers of the year. Here at mashKULTURE we have a penchant for Nike and Jordans so apologies if our list seems a little one-sided, but 2011 was a big year for both brands.

Check out our top ten picks after the jump, and feel free to let us know what we left out. (Yes, we know, there was quite a bit.)

10. Supra Skytop 3 ‘Cool Grey’
Following the hideous sequel to Chad Muska’s signature sneaker, Supra came correct this year with the third installation. We dig this cool grey colourway with icy blue soles.

9. Gourmet Dieci ‘Navy/White’
The versatility and sleek design of Gourmet’s Dieci model is no doubt one of the reasons it’s become the most popular in the Cali label’s ever widening range of footwear. They can easily be dressed up or down, and add to that premium materials, attention to detail, not to mention a great price point, and we’re already second guessing ourselves as to why we only gave it a 9.

8. Air Jordan VII ‘Cardinal’
After a five-year hiatus, the iconic – yet sadly underrated – Cardinal (once a regular on the feet of Jerry Seinfeld) released in the Spring. It definitely gets our stamp of approval, and if you missed out when they dropped, you can still grab a pair on eBay at a great price (some even below retail).

7. Air Jordan V ‘Black/Metallic Silver’
Originally released in 1990 and last retroed in 2007, these OGs are arguably the pinnacle of Jumpman glory. The first to sport clear soles, a reflective 3M tongue and lace locks, everyone and their father wore these back in the day (even Tony Danza).

6. HUF Hufnagel Pro ‘White/Gum’
2011 saw the release of Keith Hufnagel’s first signature shoe on his own label. The minimal and timeless styling of the Hufnagel Pro make this one of our top sneaker choices of the year.

5. Nike Free Run+ 2 ‘Black/White’
The initial Free Run+ was an extremely impressive shoe on its own, but Nike upped the ante with its successor. Super light, super comfy, featuring a tougher, layered construction highlighted by diamond-reinforced ripstop mesh, and with a design inspired by the anatomy of the human foot, the Free Run+ 2 was the go-to sneaker of the Summer.

4. Gourmet Dignan ‘Black/White’
We love Gourmet for continually pushing the envelope in footwear design. Whether its adding a duck boot upper to a technical running outsole, or as in this instance, taking inspiration from the hospital booties worn by Mark Wahlberg’s character in a closing scene from The Departed, and fusing it with a running outsole, Gourmet impressed us even more in 2011.

3. Air Jordan III
The bronze medal goes to not one, not two, but all three Air Jordan IIIs that saw a 2011 release. We just couldn’t decide which two to leave out, but can you blame us? The White Cement dropped early in the year, the True Blue in the Summer, and last but definitely not least, the Black Cement hit shelves just a few weeks ago.

2. Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’
Just a few short days and all panic breaks loose, when the Concord finally makes its highly anticipated return. Regarded as the Holy Grail of all Jordans, the Concord takes silver.

1. Nike Mag
Great Scott! So we kind of gave it away with our lead image, but you probably already guessed that the Nike Mag would take first place. After hordes of sneakerheads and Back to the Future fanatics begging Nike for years to produce the sneakers, they finally released in September via eBay in a limited run of 1500, and for a good cause too. 100% of proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Now that’s what I call fly. McFly.

Last year our Listed year-end round up posts were MIA, but for 2011 it’s back, and leading up to the end of December, we’ll be giving you our favourites from 2011 including t-shirts, shoes, prints, skate decks, along with our most cherished Monday’s Moffs, Today’s Photographs, and Daily Videos.

So without further ado, here are our top ten skate decks from 2011.

10. RAW ‘Stay Hungry’ Series
I get a hunger for skating just looking at these.

9. Stacks ‘Monsters’ Series
Sex sells + great design courtesy of Kevin Lyons. Who’s buying? I sure am.

8. SHUT ‘5th Avenue’ Series
The NYC skate institution channels a New York Skate of Mind like only few can.

7. Baker Terry Kennedy ‘Mr. TK Cereal’
I pity the fool who can’t appreciate the awesomeness of this deck based on a cereal from the ’80s. It’s even fortified with G-vitamins!

6. Brian Kelley x Zoo York ‘Streets of New York’ Series
Dope photos of a dope city by a dope photographer/dope skater.

5. Pabst x Santa Cruz ‘Cruzers’
Technically they’re not decks, but these hipster-friendly skateboards almost want to make us grow a mustache and cruise around Williamsburg.

4. 5boro ‘Fuck Longboards’
Someone had to say it.

3. Robert Longo x Supreme
Monochrome boobs, bombs, and contorted poses. The coolest in skateboarding meets the coolest in the art world.

2. Flip Tom Penny Reissue
One of the most memorable decks from the mid 90s made a return in an OG version along with an updated P2 construction.

1. Girl ‘Golden Girls’ Series
This had to be the most creative, strongest concept we saw all year. The Girl team as the Golden Girls. Now that’s golden!

Nate Hooper, a designer and graphic artist from San Francisco, California, announced Friday, May 14th, that he would be departing from the San Francisco streetwear giant, REBEL8, as their Creative Director.

This wasn’t the dramatic break-up which one would expect from those in the fashion industry given the egos involved. It was respectful, and celebratory, as Joshy D, the owner of REBEL8, and Hooper have been friends since childhood. Working with the brand since 2008, Hooper was instrumental in REBEL8’s expansion from just t-shirts and stickers to incorporating a very successful cut-and-sew line as well as major expansions in their graphics program and accessories line. Hooper initiated many impressive collaborations: Vans, Mishka, Actual Pain, Flying Coffin, Benny Gold, Dickies, FTC, Morning Breath, Starter, and FM$ to name a few. The San Franciscan directed eleven seasons from fall 2008 to spring 2011, cementing REBEL8 as one of America’s premier counter-culture independent brands. It is obvious that although Nate Hooper may no longer be the creative director of the label, this is only the beginning for the San Francisco, California native.

Splitting his childhood between growing up in the heart of San Francisco and his dad’s commune/farm in Northern California, Nate Hooper saw the dichotomy between the American city and country lifestyles first hand, which helped shape the aesthetics that show up in his work today. Hooper worked most of his teenage years at San Francisco’s premiere skateshop FTC. In 1998 he enrolled in Carnegie Mellon University to pursue a Fine Art degree but later dropped out to study photography at Central St Martin’s College in London in 2001, later returning to graduate from CMU in 2002. In 2004, after a bevy of dead-end jobs, Nate started working as a designer for the boutique design agency Ordinary Kids back in San Francisco. Around 2007, he left his home town and worked as a designer in Amsterdam; however, no matter how far he strayed from home, the former R8 creative director always kept San Francisco, California in his heart.

mashKULTURE: So, in a nutshell, what’s next?

Nate Hooper: Well, basically, I’ve been working Sixty hour weeks for two years straight so I need a bit of a vacation first (Laughs). Besides that, I ended up having to turn down a lot of work when I was at R8, so now I look forward to working with those people as well as working on my own personal projects.

mK: So does that mean brand collaborations?

NH: I’ll definitely be talking to a lot of brands we worked with when I was at REBEL8, but you have to remember I have only been gone for three days (Laughs), so I’m still just trying to figure things out… I’d say that I’ve definitely built some pretty cool relationships with people in the industry through REBEL8 though.

mK: Your prior work ranges from Old Navy, to Ordinary Kids, and then REBEL8; will your future work carry a combination of the edgy and Americana aesthetics?

NH: Working with Ordinary Kids was kind of my gateway into design in general. They’ve worked with everyone from Stussy to adidas to HUF, so needless to say working with them was pretty cool… and REBEL8 was of course an amazing experience. Basically right now, I’m just looking forward to doing my own thing for a while. As far as Americana goes, I am genuinely attracted to heritage aesthetics as well as history in general, and I think looking at those kinds of themes through a streetwear lens could be really interesting.

mK: When you worked with FTC and Ordinary Kids, a majority of your work played on your experience as a skateboarder growing up on the west coast of the United States. Will we see that again?

NH: Yeah, I really hope to work with more skate brands, for sure. Working at FTC for so long you really learn how critical people are of products in general, so you always want to bring your ‘A’ game!

mK: REBEL8 is known as a premiere counter culture brand in the States. Is there anything you learned at R8 that you will carry into your next venture?

NH: Absolutely. Working at REBEL8 I was really able to learn the entire process of how a brand really works. From conceptualizing a product to sourcing, to production, to dealing with pricing issues, to shipping, to promoting that product, to product placement, etc… I feel like I now really understand how much energy and work goes into making a brand thrive.

mK: The city of San Francisco played a major part in your work the last two years. Will we see your home town pop up going forward?

NH: San Francisco and Northern California in general has really rich and extensive history. I think moving forward, especially with personal projects, I will definitely be trying to incorporate San Francisco’s heritage as well as all the amazing production resources we have available at our fingertips living here.

mK: You’ve been working in the American fashion industry for over 12 years, playing every part from Retailer to Creative Director. What keeps you interested?

NH: I have found that as you develop your skill set and develop your voice as a designer, things just become exponentially more interesting. As you get better, things get better. Now, working in the industry for me is really fun… If you told me ten years ago that I would be the creative director of REBEL8 I wouldn’t have believed you.

mK: You went to Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh; do your college days ever play a part of your art now?

NH: Art school for me was a very good way to develop a certain way of thinking. It was a great way to learn how to get a message across without having to be quite so literal. It taught me how to think in terms of nuance, to make things that are more interesting than just the run-of-the-mill straight-forward shit. However, I feel like I gravitated towards design almost immediately out of school, being that conventional art doesn’t necessarily have the opportunity to reach a lot of people.

mK: You post a lot of weird, nostalgic stuff on your tumblr blog, Slurricane; is this the kind of stuff we can expect from your future pieces?

NH: Absolutely, working with REBEL8 was great, but a lot of the art work was being told through Mike Giant’s hand. The imagery that I am personally attracted to, I haven’t really had the chance to bring to fruition in my own work. I’m really just looking forward to just being on my own, working in a small design studio with a couple of friends and start banging out quality work.

The conclusion to our Behind the Blogs feature joins us with Kevin Ma, founder of Hypebeast, arguably the most well-known, and most frequented site on the subject. We got the chance to discuss with Kevin why he started his site four years ago, how much time and work he continues to immerse in Hypebeast – not even taking time off when on holiday – how his role has changed over time, and much more.

mashKULTURE.net: What inspired you to create a sneaker/streetwear blog?

Kevin Ma: I started Hypebeast approximately four years ago during the height of my sneaker collecting days. Back then, there weren’t many websites talking about sneakers and fashion. The only ones that I knew of was Being Hunted and Freshness. I felt that there was so much information out there that these sites weren’t covering so I decided to start the blog.

mashKULTURE.net: What were the biggest difficulties you encountered starting out?

Kevin Ma: In the beginning, it actually wasn’t really that difficult because my expectations weren’t that high. I started the blog as a hobby and wanted to share with my readers what I found was interesting. Naturally through different sneaker forums and through search engines, the site grew bigger.

mashKULTURE.net: As your site has grown, how much has your daily routine changed?

Kevin Ma: I have gotten a lot more busy these past two years. My daily routine remains mostly the same. I still do a lot of the information sourcing on Hypebeast, but I don’t write much anymore as our editors’ writing skills are much better than mine. Instead, I spend a lot more time running the “business”. I don’t like to call it that, but the reality is that Hypebeast is now a fully functional magazine with employees. With growth comes the responsibility to bring in the revenue to maintain it. Other than trying to find the dough, I also have to work with our web designers to improve the site, I have to overlook our features and interviews, and also have to think of ways to promote the site.

With all these responsibilities, I have been working more than ever now than before. It’s cool though because I enjoy what I do, but it’s tough sometimes because I never get a break. Even when I’m on holidays, I have to work. There is no time to rest.

mashKULTURE.net: How has content on your site changed over the years? Why?

Kevin Ma: The content has definitely changed from being sneaker centric to more fashion geared. A lot of our news is still based around sneakers, but we’re more choosy now on which sneakers we post up. I guess it’s because the more you see, the more you learn. Hypebeast started out talking about all the “hyped” products on the market. Now, it’s more about what actually looks good.

mashKULTURE.net: Do you have any content quotas? Is there a required minimum you set out each day of how many posts to publish? If so, does that ever jeopardize quantity over quality?

Kevin Ma: Nowadays, we don’t really have “content quotas”. At one point, we were trying to get out as much news as possible because everyone was doing the same thing at the time. But now we realize that we should just stick to what we think is cool. Having a ton of content might attract more readers but at the end of the day, it doesn’t help the site because all you’re doing is publishing crap.

mashKULTURE.net: What’s the secret to your website’s success?

Kevin Ma: No secrets really. Just hard work and more hard work.

mashKULTURE.net: How important is social media to your blog(s)?

Kevin Ma: It definitely helps and plays a part in promoting the site. We are actually late on the boat for social networking for Hypebeast, but I’m sure it’s very useful especially for newer sites.

mashKULTURE.net: What are your thoughts on the drastic rise in street culture blogs over the last few years? Do you see any parallels between the growth of streetwear brands and the rise of street culture blogs?

Kevin Ma: I think it’s cool to see more street culture blogs on the internet, and I’m guessing it’s because of more streetwear brands? I’m not sure on this one. But it’s interesting to see what kids are doing with their blogs. If they keep their content original, then there’s a lot they can do with using the internet as their vehicle of promotion. However, there’s also a lot of copycat sites which don’t really help push the culture much.

mashKULTURE.net: How do you think this large number of sites affects street culture itself?

Kevin Ma: I don’t think it’ll affect street culture. People who start sites just because they want to make money won’t succeed because no one will read them. Only the sites that do what they do best will survive.

mashKULTURE.net: What is the biggest mistake these blogs are making if they are making any at all?

Kevin Ma: Depends which blogs you’re talking about. If people are starting blogs just to make money, then no one is going to read them because it’s not authentic. Sure, they can make a couple bucks from visitors via search engines but at the end of the day, those sites don’t help push the culture.

mashKULTURE.net: What advice might you give to them?

Kevin Ma: Start a blog with a different topic than everyone else’s. Better yet, do something else like open a twitter account.

mashKULTURE.net: The current recession can be seen as part of a natural cycle, a form of cleansing as many new, less-creative brands go under, and the streetwear market contracts. Do you feel that the over saturated “street blogosphere” will follow the trend? Where do you see the future of these blogs heading?

Kevin Ma: I think people are currently losing interest in Streetwear already because right now, the market is too saturated and there are too many brands out there. Fashion is a cycle. Streetwear won’t disappear, and only the strong will survive while the weak will perish. Therefore, street blogs will come and go as well. This is why we don’t like to categorize ourselves as a streetwear site. Our site is about fashion we enjoy whether it’s streetwear or high fashion.

mashKULTURE.net: Where do you see the future of your own blog(s) heading? What short and long-term goals have you set?

Kevin Ma: Since blogging is so saturated and everyone’s just copying each other, we’re trying to do some more in-depth features that will actually help promote what or who we think is interesting. Since the financial crisis is upon us, just like any other company, we’re doing what we can to survive in the short run. If everything goes smoothly then we’ll hopefully launch more interactive features on our site.

mashKULTURE.net: Any closing thoughts?

Kevin Ma: Life’s short, do something with it.

The fourth of our five-part feature has us talking with Adam Bryce, founder of Slamxhype. Started back in New Zealand in 2003, Adam’s site has grown to become one of the most progressive sites dealing with street culture today. Most recently he has made a very big – some might say very risky – move into the world of print with the New World Order quarterly. Adam shares his thoughts with us on the changes his site – and blogs in general – has gone through over the years, what his plans are for the future of Slamxhype and his newly founded magazine, and more.

mashKULTURE.net: What inspired you to create a sneaker/streetwear blog?

Adam Bryce: At the time there wasn’t anything else like that out there, and I wanted to create a place where I could pick out what I liked and share it with people. It’s as simple as that really. There had been sites like Beinghunted, and Rift-Trooper, but at the time, no genuinely regular blogs. I just wanted to fill that gap and have some fun.

mashKULTURE.net: What were the biggest difficulties you encountered starting out?

Adam Bryce: At first, it was really easy. Slamxhype started before there was any competition, so word spread quickly and organically. Sourcing content wasn’t hard either, as there was no precedent, and no negative connotations around street-web media, problems which exist now in a big way. It was all very easy back then.

mashKULTURE.net: As your site has grown, how much has your daily routine changed?

Adam Bryce: I definitely work a lot more than prior to Slamxhype. And no matter what we do, I seem to work more and more. I am definitely not the main contributor to the site anymore; James is definitely the head of the team when it comes to that, and my time is spent working on new projects, and now specifically on our print magazine. I never rest, I always work! Time management and setting aside a structured way of work for me isn’t something that exists. That’s not something I’d recommend at all. James and I both work all day and night on Slamxhype and The New Order. We are however, making some changes over the coming months, which may change the structure of the site and will see both of us spend more time on the magazine, yet at the same time improve the standard of the site and move it inline with what we do in print. We’re trying our best to work smarter rather than harder, trying being the operative word.

mashKULTURE.net: How has content on your site(s) changed over the years? Why?

Adam Bryce: Considerably. It’s changed so many times. More often than we would like, and it will continue to evolve. I am by no means a web expert or a media expert, and so we try and try by experiment to find better ways to publish. We’ve made mistakes, big ones, but we feel we are back on track now, with even more big changes pending, but changes with a much more educated progression.

mashKULTURE.net: Do you have any content quotas? Is there a required minimum you set out each day of how many posts to publish? If so, does that ever jeopardize quantity over quality?

Adam Bryce: Haha. As it stands, it’s just mayhem. We just post what we like. We’ve never had set quotas or expectations. That being said, we can definitely feel the differences when more or less is posted. Quantity over quality is a question that I think we all find debating almost weekly. I’m much more inclined to find quality over quantity, and with movements towards synchronizing what we do in print with online, it’s important for us to step up quality and selection processes.

mashKULTURE.net: What’s the secret to your website’s success?

Adam Bryce: Genuine passion and interest. All the changes (in recent times anyway) on Slamxhype have been driven by our own changes in interests. We have never done anything with traffic or trends in mind. I feel we are a genuine leader in our content paths, and readers can see this.

mashKULTURE.net: How important is social media to your blog(s)?

Adam Bryce: We are purely content driven. We are the worst marketers in the world, and haven’ learned a lot about how to build traffic and network, etc… but are almost completely useless at following any of these methods. I can only say, Facebook, Twitter, etc… are important beyond your imagination. Whether we are the best people to follow in terms of ‘how’, I can almost guarantee at this point ‘Not at all’.

mashKULTURE.net: What are your thoughts on the drastic rise in street culture blogs over the last few years? Do you see any parallels between the growth of streetwear brands and the rise of street culture blogs?

Adam Bryce: I could sit here and say that it’s great, it’s great to see more people have their say, share their thoughts, becoming interested in the culture, starting brands and so on. But it’s just not true. If these sites were innovative, educated and developing, then it would be wonderful. Likewise with new brands, but 9 times out of 10, these sites are just replicas of what exists already, and similarly with the brands. Neither having genuine street culture intentions. Genuine brands start with a love, a philosophy, both true to the culture, the same with blogs. I feel the streetwear boom brought about a new era of people wanting to be a part of something they didn’t understand and therefore diluting the better nature of the culture.

mashKULTURE.net: How do you think this large number of sites affects street culture itself?

Adam Bryce: As I said above, in theory it should be a good thing. I think genuine blogs out there, like HYR, Jjjound, Jake Davis, etc. are fantastic for the culture, but at the same time, the influx of blogs out there trying to compete on a news aggregator level is just diluting and insulting the culture.

mashKULTURE.net: What is the biggest mistake these blogs are making if they are making any at all?

Adam Bryce: Trying to be successful, trying to make money, thinking of it as a business, and thinking it’s easier than it is.

mashKULTURE.net: What advice might you give to them?

Adam Bryce: Start a personal blog with a personable nature, talk about what your into, what your thoughts are, and have fun.

mashKULTURE.net: The current recession can be seen as part of a natural cycle, a form of cleansing as many new, less-creative brands go under, and the streetwear market contracts. Do you feel that the over saturated “street blogosphere” will follow the trend? Where do you see the future of these blogs heading?

Adam Bryce: I think the oversaturated blogosphere would have only lasted so long anyway, recession or no recession. The majority weren’t started with the correct intentions, and therefore have a limited timespan. My biggest fear with regard to the recession, is that while we all assume the weaker brands will be weeded out, it could also see the better brands suffering, and possibly brands with good marketing strategies winning out. You can already see in the US and Europe, great brands like W)Taps or Visvim not selling as well, the price is high, and they are being outsold by brands with inferior quality and philosophy because of this, and (through use of) gimmicky marketing tools.

mashKULTURE.net: Where do you see the future of your own blog(s) heading? What short and long-term goals have you set?

Adam Bryce: As I’ve suggested, we are making some big changes over the coming months. The New Order is a new focus of ours, and by no means will Slamxhype be left aside, quite the opposite. It will be brought inline with the magazine in terms of its mission statement, philosophy and goals. Long-Term: we never think too far ahead.

mashKULTURE.net: Any closing thoughts?

Adam Bryce: Thanks for the opportunity.
