Tim Burton: A Filmography
Remember Martin Woutisseth’s great animated video showcasing Stanley Kubrick’s filmography? Well, the French graphic designer and illustrator is back with a similar project. Only this time, he focuses on Tim Burton and his expansive career beginning with Pee Wee’s Big Adventure in 1985 and going up all the way up to 2010’s Alice in Wonderland.
TimeScapes: Rapture 4K
Check out this jaw-dropping trailer for TimeScapes, a film by award-winning cinematographer and director Tom Lowe, which features stunning slow-motion and timelapse cinematography of the landscapes, people, and wildlife of the American South West. Lowe spent two years roaming the Southwest in his Toyota pickup truck shooting the film, which was shot, edited and colour-graded at 4K resolution (often referred to as Quad HD because it has four times as much resolution as 1080p HD). It’s bananas.
Wrong Cops: Chapter 1

Premiering last week at Cannes was chapter 1 of Quentin Dupieux’s latest film, Wrong Cops, which stars Marilyn Manson, Mark Burnham and Grace Zabriskie. In chapter 1 of the 90-minute film, Duke, a crooked and music-mad cop, patrols Los Angeles’ streets, music blasting and meets a young techno lover, David Dolores Frank (played by Manson). Appalled by the musical tastes of the young adolescent, Duke decides to give him a good music lesson.

Intimate Behind-the-Scenes Photos from The Empire Strikes Back

Following the huge success of Star Wars, the pressure was on to produce an even greater film. During the filming of the sequel though, the stars and staff did find time to relax, have fun and forget about the immeasurably big expectations placed on them.
After the jump, take a look at some intimate behind-the-scenes photos shot during the filming of The Empire Strikes Back. (The image above is from Return of the Jedi, but beautifully intimate, nonetheless.)
Spike Lee ‘The Dolly Shot’
One of Spike Lee’s trademarks is creating movement with his stationary characters with the help of a dolly. Here we get a look at a collection of pretty much every dolly shot from every film he’s directed.
Obey the Giant: The Early Life of Shepard Fairey
A new film is in the works chronicling the early life of Shepard Fairey and the origin of his OBEY GIANT street art campaign. Directed by Julian Marshall, the film narrates the story of the Buddy Cianci billboard incident that occurred while Shepard was a Junior at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1990. Obey the Giant: The Early Life of Shepard Fairey is not a documentary, but a narrative film, which is currently looking to gain funds via Kickstarter to complete post-production. The Central Park Effect
The Central Park Effect is a documentary revealing the extraordinary array of wild birds who grace Manhattan’s celebrated patch of green and the equally colorful, full-of-attitude New Yorkers who schedule their lives around the rhythms of migration. Acclaimed author Jonathan Franzen, an idiosyncratic trombone technician, a charming fashion-averse teenager, and a bird-tour leader who’s recorded every sighting she’s made since the 1940s are among the film’s cast of characters. Featuring spectacular wildlife footage capturing the changing seasons, this lyrical documentary transports the viewer to a dazzling world that goes all but unnoticed by the 38 million people who visit the park each year. Check out the trailer above.
