The Best Rides from ’80s TV and Film as LEGO

While much of the acting from ’80s television and films was forgettable (okay, maybe just TV), the cars were definitely not. A Dutch guy named Ralph who is not only a Lego enthusiast but also garners feelings of nostalgia for the ’80s took to creating some of the most memorable rides from that era using only LEGO. So far he’s created four impressive and intricate vehicles but has promised others are on the way shortly.
Above as you’ve probably guessed is Michael Knight and K.I.T.T., and below you can check out Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, The General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard, and The A-Team.

Parra x Kidrobot ‘Pierced: Shades of Grey’

Dutch artist Parra teams up with Kidrobot for his second edition of Pierced (see here for the first one), turning the bright hues of the original art to muted shades of grey. The contrasting matte and high gloss 10-inch tall vinyl sculpture depicts two figures “entwined and suspended in a dramatic dance of passion and pain. A fiery embrace between two lovers, one clothed and one nude, changes from an ecstatic and intimate moment to an impaling brutal display of empowerment.” Limited to 750 with artist’s signature engraved on the bottom the figure goes on sale January 31st for $150.

Parra and Kidrobot join forces on an impressive new figure inspired by the melodramatic cover art of romance novels, based on an original silkscreen artwork by the Dutch master. The 10-inch tall toy dubbed Pierced, was purposely given no front or back, telling its story in the round. Using his signature post-Pop imagery and highly saturated colors with contrasting matte and gloss finishes, Parra depicts two figures entwined and suspended in a dramatic dance of passion and pain, revealing multiple levels of love. Limited to 300, with artist’s signature engraved on the bottom, it will release June 7th with a price tag of $150.
