Steve Jobs Action Figure

In Icons immortalize Steve Jobs in a 12″ collectible action figure. Although it retails for $99.99, and is set to ship in February, it might never actually become a reality since the figure is totally unauthorized, so a cease and desist is probably already in the mail. Either way, it’s still a very impressive and life like figure and features the following:

-One realistic head sculpt & two pairs of glasses
-One highly articulated body & three pairs of hands
-One black turtleneck & one pair of blue jeans
-One black leather belt & one chair (wood + metal)
-One pair of black socks & sneakers
-Two apples (One with a bite.)
-One piece of “ONE MORE THING” hard backdrop

Remember Steve Nishimoto’s Soldier Skaters? Something almost just as cool are Toy Boarders, toy soldier-inspired skate figures. They come in packs of 24 in 8 different poses, and at only $5 a pack through their online shop, these might just even be cooler than Nishimoto’s figures.

New from Kidrobot is their All City Breakers mini series, which celebrates the best dance style born from 70s hip-hop culture. Individually foil-wrapped and blind, each b-boy and b-girl’s punctuated move is captured perfectly in plastic – a stylized freeze. Injection-molded and inspired by the retro but classic green army men and their solid plastic bases, these breakers flaunt moves from Power to Flex in four neon colors: pink, green orange and blue. Each 2-inch art piece is paired with boombox and will release September 15th for $1.95 each.

Triclops x Kidrobot ‘René London’ Dunny

August 8th, 2011  •   Posted by: mark  •   Posted in: toys  •   Be the first to comment!

Inspired by witty and thought-provoking Belgian artist René Magritte, Triclops plays with reality and illusion by interpreting Magritte’s own self portrait on a new Dunny for Kidrobot. Its transparent blue vinyl head bears a wandering set of clouds on the back and painted green apple obscuring the face. On the back of the Londoner’s dark suit it is written that, “Ceci n’est pas une Dunny” – challenging observers’ perceptions of reality… much like Magritte’s Treachery of Images painting where he states in French, “This is not a pipe.” Still, what you see here is just what you get – a uniquely surrealist piece of modern art to add to your growing collection. This illusory piece comes accessorized with black bowler, umbrella, and a pipe to complete his distinguished air. The Rene London 8-inch Dunny is limited to 1000 and arrives August 18th with a price tag of $75.
