Die Antwoord shows no signs of slowing down as they’ve fairly regularly been releasing crazy video after crazy video. Cookie Thumper, the latest from the South African duo of Ninja and Yolandi holds no punches and gives absolutely zero fucks. No synopsis needed. Just press play.
Hyper Drive is a new video by Japanese photographer, darwinfish105 which takes viewers aboard Tokyo’s Yurikamome train line at what is probably somewhere near hyper drive and light speed. He managed to do this by taking long exposure images which were then sequenced together and sped up. The result is pretty intense.
With the introduction of his latest signature model, the Busenitz ADV, Dennis Busenitz – a complete and total beast of a pro skater – took to the streets of San Francisco to showcase some of the technical features of his new shoe. The video features some great slow motion shots of Dennis in action.
A-Trak has an entertaining new video out for JUMBO, a track off last year’s all-collabs Tuna Melt EP, featuring Galantis. Directed by Jason Miller, the video shows a gym full of A-Traks at basketball practice with some larger-than-life cheerleaders.
Omega’s new ad for their Co-Axial Chronometer is a thing to behold. Phantasmagorical sequences unveil the perfection of nature interacting elegantly with gearwheels and other mechanical components. The images, narration and even music (Lord of the Rings, anyone?) are a perfect fit.
If you’ve yet to hear Hanni El Khatib’s latest album, Head in the Dirt which dropped in April, I strongly suggest checking it out. The ex-HUF creative director recently unveiled some funny new visuals for Penny. Directed by Simon Cahn, the video takes place in a prison where a bunch of hardened criminals get jiggy to HEK’s music.
One of the biggest and most respected names in modern graffiti is Melbourne-based artist and DTS crew member, SOFLES. In the beautifully shot, timelapse video by Selina Miles, watch him in action as he throws up countless bombs and burners in an abandoned building. I’d recommend turning the music down or listening to your own while watching.
One half of hip-hop duo, The Cool Kids, Chuck Inglish drops a new video for Drops, the first single off his forthcoming free Droptops EP, which is a prelude to an upcoming full-length album, Convertibles.
