Sebastien Wierinck

The work of Sebastien Wierinck takes the term interior design to a whole other level. It has a minimalist-futuristic, slighty dystopic aesthetic to it that has me drooling like a little baby. Head over to his site for more.

Andrey Nepomnyaschev bounces colourful balls in perfect synch to some great music. After watching the video, I was forced to purchase the album, and I don’t know how I overlooked it a month ago. Hardcore electronic/glitch in line with some great visuals. Thanks, Russia.

Trifonic

Trifonic are back with a new EP. Following up on their successful debut album from last year, Emergence, and the subsequent remix EP, the latest release is entitled Growing Distance. Trifonic set quite the high standard with their freshman album – which in my opinion was one of the best albums of last year – and whether they were able to paramount Emergence, I’ll let everyone decide for himself/herself. (I do believe though, that they succeeded in bringing at least that same quality of music.) The EP consists of four tracks (two of them instrumentals), which can be purchased for two bucks through their website.

Synesthesia

All I can say about Terry Timely’s new short film is three short letters. OMG. I’m speechless.

Hong-Kong pixel art map

I have no idea how many painstaking hours it must have taken to put this together, or what the point of it was in the first place. My jaw did drop though. Check it out: Hong-Kong pixel art map

In this video, get a behind the scenes look at the making of the soundtrack for PS3’s Infamous game, which was composed by Amon Tobin, who is mostly known for his ridiculous and extravagant samples. I’m sure the game’s creators were aware of this when deciding to choose him. He ended up packing Sony’s state of the art studios with a bunch of trash, and of course none of the instruments were used in the way they’re intended to be.

So the music might not be the greatest, so why should the video/advertisement be any better? It belongs in that category where it’s so bad you have to watch it.

Check out another one after the jump.

One of my favourite illustrators/animators/CG specialist is undoubtedly Zhestkov. He molds simplicity and complexity and beauty all at once. I don’t really think there’s any reason to try and rationalize his work when it’s plain to see on Vimeo or on his site, in high quality. .

Panda

To me, pandas have always been some sort of enigma, something surreal. Nocturnal-devil’s new tee design explains just how nature might go about creating this alien creature. It has something to do with what happens to bears when the printer starts running out of ink…
