Resurrected last year, Etnies have since been putting out new colourways of one of their most sought after, and most popular skate shoes ever: Sal Barbier’s signature sneaker, the SLB. Most recently, it was given a nubuck navy upper, gum sole, and red lining and embroidered 23. Look for it at retailers including Caliroots. mash rating: 8/10

Following numberous collaborations with in4mation, this year Etnies is going the solo route with Sal Barbier’s classic signature shoe releasing it in this baby blue colourway. It has already dropped, and you can purchase it directly through Etnies’ online shop.

We’ve already seen the Cool Grey, black leather, and red colourways of the SLB, and it seems that the collaboration between in4mation and Etnies has not yet come to a halt. The original black/white colourway will alsoe be seeing a release in the near future. No word on specifics yet, but should be in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

We’ve already seen the In4mation x Etnies SLB in a black and red. Now it looks like the shoe will get a makeover in a cool grey colourway, which might be the hottest of the three. Unfortunately, not much else is known at this time, but we’ll keep you posted.

Back in January, we mentioned that in4mation along with Etnies and Sal Barbier would be releasing the classic skate shoe from the early ’90s, the SLB. The shoe releases this Saturday at in4mation’s Ward and Waikiki locations.

Back in January, we got a first look at the SLB retro that was made collaboration with Etnies and in4mation. Here’s a video in which Sal Barbier talk about the sneakers past, and what differences the new one has compared to the original.

Etnies is getting ready to do something big. Together with in4mation, they will re-release Sal Barbier’s pro model, the SLB. Arguably the most memorable, most popular, and most comfortable skate shoe of the mid-’90s, the SLB was as slick and stylish as Sal Barbier himself. These were my favourite back in the day. I always copped the black suede ones and ever since, had hoped they would be re-released. Now I just have to wait until the end of 2008.
