Founded in 1980 by community activist, Ray Rodriguez, the Hall of Fame wall at 106th and Park Avenue in East Harlem has gained legendary status, with the biggest of names in the graffiti scene leaving their mark on the famed wall. Each year, and event is organized celebrating the wall and its 30 year history. This year’s event was held over the weekend. Martha Cooper was there, and documented the celebrations. She also added some old school photos to her blog from back in ‘82, and ‘84.

Martha Cooper’s new exhibit opens today at Los Angeles’ Subliminal Projects. Street Shots is comprised of photos Cooper took during the ’70s in New York of children playing in the street. The exhibit also introduces Cooper’s collaborative effort with Obey for their Spring/Summer collection. Cooper’s work will adorn such items as clothing, bags, and skateboards.
Obey have updated their site with some behind-the-scenes photos of the exhibit. Check them out after the jump.
