New Balance 1400 IE ‘Reflective’

New Balance is getting set to release their 1400 model in two new colourways. Both feature a heavy deployment of technical waterproof materials and have been finished with reflective overlays. The midsoles were given a vintage appearance with an off-white finish. These will begin arriving in limited quantities to retailers in October, but you can pre-order at Hanon Shop. mash rating: 5/10

New Balance 574 ‘Clips’ Collection

New Balance introduces their Clips collection, which consists of the 574 in four colourways, each using materials left over from their US factories. Each pair is limited to only 120 pairs, equalling a total of 480 pairs. They’ve launched a campaign around the collection, and a website, 574Clips.com. For each shoe, a short film was shot resulting in a unique story for each shoe. To give an even more personal touch, a Polaroid of the shoe is placed into each box, and the size, colour and individual number of the shoe is written on the back. The shoes will begin arriving this month at only ten US retailers including Reed Space, Shoe Gallery in Miami, Bodega in Boston, Commonwealth, Premium Goods in Houston, St. Alfreds, Burn Rubber in Royal Oak, Sole Boutique in San Antonio, Goods, and Undefeated LA. mash rating: 5/10

Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 850 ‘Skippy’

Sneaker Freaker have gotten together with New Balance to design a new pair of sneakers. They chose the eighteen year old 850 model, and gave it an upper consisting of real kangaroo leather, which is thinner and stronger than regular cow leather, and are more resistant to abrasions as well. So far, there’s no news on availability, but we’ll keep you posted. Poor Skippy. mash rating: 7/10

Staple Design x New Balance 575 ‘White Pigeon’

Following last year’s Staple Design x New Balance 575 ‘Pigeon’, today Jeff Staple officially announces news about the follow-up 575 ‘White Pigeon’. The sneaker is limited to 1077 pairs globally, and will be releasing on August 18th. The back of the tongue tag reads ‘Shiro’ (Japanese for ‘white’). New Balance ‘09 Fall 455

After thirty years, New Balance brought back the 455 hiking shoe this Spring. It will return in the Fall featuring new materials and new colourways. Manufactured at the Flimby factory in UK, the 455 has a three-layer lugged outsole capable of dispersing shock and offering excellent traction. mash rating: 6/10

New Balance 574 ‘Location’ Program

New Balance initially released the 574 in the mid-’90s as a more easily accessible successor to the 576 model. It almost instantly became a classic and has since gained cult status. Starting this month, the brand will introduce the Location Program, which will consist of limited 574s only available at select retailers approved by New Balance and chosen for their specialized knowledge and commitment to quality. These are the stores they trust to treat the 574 with the respect it deserves, and as such, have been given a special designation to set them apart from the rest: 574 LOCATION. Stockists range from the world’s best independent retailers to key national footwear chains including Foot Locker and Finish Line. Each month from now until December, two styles will be released starting with a burgundy and a brown colourway. mash rating: 7/10
